Floating Shower Seat with LED Lighting

Assalay’s luxury bathroom renovation featuring a custom floating shower seat with LED lighting, marine-grade stainless steel, waterproofing, and premium stone finishes.

For this project, our client requested a custom floating shower seat with integrated LED lighting.

We engineered the seat using 316 marine-grade stainless steel, chosen for its outstanding corrosion resistance in wet environments. Unlike standard stainless steel, 316 contains molybdenum, making it ideal for areas exposed to water, chlorides, and cleaning products.

After preparing detailed scale drawings, we worked with our fabricators to produce the frame. Careful planning ensured that the LED cable was installed in the exact location required before fitting the seat.

The frame was secured to a masonry wall with galvanized Dynabolts for rust resistance, reinforced with Soudal’s T-rex X-treme Express adhesive, which provides a 400kg/m initial tack strength.

To allow tiling in a wet environment, we clad the seat with CFC sheeting and applied a Class 3 polyurethane waterproof membrane - offering over 300% movement allowance for long-lasting protection.

Our stone mason then cut and installed the stone cladding with precision, and we finished the design with a COB IP67 LED light - perfectly suited to wet areas for both safety and ambience.

The result is a striking floating shower seat that blends practicality, strength, and modern luxury—an example of how Assalay creates bespoke bathroom renovations that last.
